Fun in the Sand

I don't want to step into Mommy M's area, writing about Baby B, but when you see him and all the adorable things he does, it's hard not to want to share it.
After we saw him joyously digging in sand this week, squishing his fingers in it, rubbing it all over his arms and shirt, and yes(yikes!) shoving it into his mouth,

I went back to look for a picture of Mommy M's introduction to sand. There she is at almost exactly the same age - 15 months - sitting daintily on the side of the sandbox, holding her bucket and only letting the sand touch her toes. When she did get sand on her hands, she quickly brushed it off and I don't think it ever occurred to her to put it in her mouth. When her daddy and I looked at this picture, taken almost exactly 30 years ago(5/31/80), I was reminded of an excerpt from the book The Nine Rooms of Happiness, I read this week. It said:

"When we look back at events, the niggling details tend to fade away and we recall the essence of the moment. In the present, it's easy for everyday annoyances to bring down your mood. So focus on the big picture: The next time you're having a pretty good day, imagine how the scene would look in a snapshot. That simple action gives you the gift of perspective that forces minor frustrations into the background where they belong. Realize that you'll likely look back on today years from now and think: THOSE were the good times."

Words to remember, Pamela's Girls. With love from CiCi for a wonderful week filled with happy memories!
