Adorable Baby B...

Last week, when we had such beautiful weather, I took these practice shots for places in our backyard where I could take Baby B's Easter pictures. I had no idea I would end up loving these practice photos so much. The precious look on his face in the top picture is just priceless and I had to share them all...

This may be my last post until the big doctor's appointment next Monday... It is at 3:30 so try to be near your computer because I'm going to be sending an EMAIL from the doctor's office letting Pamela's girls know the big news:)

I'm really anxious to find out so we can finally settle on a name. We're still very up in the air with a boy name... Daddy L likes Milledge Calhoun (Milledge was his Grandmother's father and Calhoun was Papa's grandmother's maiden name) and we would call him Mills. I like Parker Andrew (Lewis Parker was Daddy L's granddad's father and John Andrew was Anma's grandfather). As for girl names, Macy Rivers is still my favorite but I have also thought about Annlee Elizabeth. It would be neat to incorporate a part of Cici, Daddy L and me all in one name;)

I hope Pamela's Girls have a wonderful week!

Baby B's Haircut

Baby B got a short haircut today for the summer. Daddy L thinks it is too short, but I think he always looks adorable. He did such a good job! He sat in the chair by himself for the first time. His hair had gotten REALLY long so he did a great job sitting through ALL the clipping. Afterwards, as a treat, we went to see Cici at her office and then we went to play at the park.

Baby B is growing into such a big boy!

Happy Birthday SanFran S!!!!

Happy Birthday SanFran S! We hope you have had a wonderful birthday weekend celebrating in LA! I sure am JEALOUS!!!

This is Baby B and Barkley singing you Happy Birthday (in their own language of course!)

And this is your present that is going to be extrememly late... I don't know WHY the paint is taking so long to dry but it is a She'll Paint Anything painting of the state flower of California, the poppy. I will put it in the frame as soon as the paint dries so I can mail it to you...hopefully tomorrow or Tuesday. I hope it will look good with your new apartment colors:)

We love and miss you!

Time With The Girls

Things have been so busy with Uncle R and me that I haven't done very well with posting lately... Sorry!

I am still deeply into learning curve at work. I have a wonderful new set of co-workers and it has been an adventure learning all of the new work systems, names, songwriters & publishers and the myriad of resources that make researching songs and catalogs easier. It has also been interesting working more closely to the center of downtown. One day recently our entire office walked several blocks to the Nashville Convention Center where we attended a #1 party for our songwriter, Neil Thrasher, celebrating his hit song, "Why Wait" recorded by Rascal Flatts. I enjoyed seeing some of the interesting architecture of downtown Nashville on our trek there and back and it was a beautiful, mild day to walk.

Last weekend we had a chance to have some good "Girl Time" with Miss Merry Mischielf and Miss Bright Spirit. We are always glad to help our our friends with house & puppy sitting while they are away from home and it gives us some good petting and lap time with our sweet Maltese friends. Every time we stay there I think about Barkley and wish that Merry & Bright could meet my handsome SC great-nephew/pup.

Uncle R is recovering from his surgery little by little but we have still been keeping a bit of a lower profile than usual and enjoyed just being quiet at Chez R for a few days and being a bit closer to church and work (for me) for a few days.

Love to the Pamelas Girls!

Nursery Ideas

In my last blog post, I intentionally left out nursery photos because there is really nothing in there yet and I knew it would need to be another post all together. Right now it has tan walls, hardwood floors and a LOT of closet space. If we have a girl we're going to paint the walls pink and if it is a boy we'll paint them pale blue or pale yellow. Regardless, Daddy L says he can put up chair molding like Baby B has in him room and like we have in our room. He also said he could put up white bead board along the bottom like in the nurseries below, so only the top portion of the room will be painted.

Here are my options so far...

Girl Option #1:

I can use Baby B's black and white bedding with the paintings I got from Havertys. I LOVE this mural of tree branches that comes from the ceiling but I'm thinking it might be a little much.

Girl Option #2:

I love this bedding I saw online... It already has matching curtains. If I use Baby B's bedding, then I'll have to find coordinating curtains. I can still use the painting with this too, I might just have to paint the black frames white:)

Boy's Room Option:

The former owners of our house left beautiful, custom-made curtains in practically every room. These were left in a bedroom, and I immediately thought of how beautiful they would look in a boy's nursery. So this is a simple pale blue/yellow set that I think would look so elegant with the curtains.

Only 3 more weeks and hopefully we'll know which option it will be...

Finally a Permanent Home... (WE HOPE)

I really enjoyed seeing SanFran S's photos of her new apartment, so here are some photos of our new house. It is kind of crazy that we were moving at the same time:)

Sorry for so many photos... It's a pretty big house and we are enjoying every room! We had some friends over Friday night, and it was so much fun having such a wonderful space for entertaining. Of course, I had to include a photo of Baby B coloring in his new playroom/sunroom with markers.
I am feeling pretty good... I feel like I'm getting more pregnant every day. Friday night and at church this morning several people glanced down at my small baby bump and told me I was "cute." In other words... I'm definitely starting to show!
We have had a change in our name choices... We went to visit Daddy L's grandma yesterday in the hospital and when we told her we were thinking of Waites for a boy (which was her Mom's maiden name) she said absolutely not because she couldn't stand the Waites men. She said they were bad news and we could not name a boy after them. So now I am really hoping for a girl because it is back to the drawing board on boy names:(
I hope Pamela's Girls have had an wonderful weekend!
Love,

New Apartment, New Hair, Pictures to Share

I've had requests to send pics of my new apartment. It's still a work in progress since I haven't been at home that much over the past month. But since CiCi is helping me pick out new curtains, I needed to take pictures of what is currently there now so it was motivation to get to taking pictures. I really can't stand these curtains. They came with the apartment and I think they are hideous and beginning to make me crazy. All my friends ask me about them and say they don't look like me. I like the shabby chic, cottage look so I'm think of getting blue and white toile ones to replace these. I still need a table and few other things. So, here are some pictures of my apartment and of me when my childhood friend came to visit me a couple of weekends ago.

Some things look familiar in my apartment? Also, I picked out that lamp stand and shade last weekend. :)
Love,
SanFran S
